Traversal is one of the game's strongest points. Eight years of history brings with it a host of benefits to the story. This allows for an interesting take on the character that casual fans of the movies have not yet seen. Peter Parker is a 23-year-old college graduate who is no stranger to the mask, having been Spider-Man for eight years. The story ditches the played-out origin, but at the same time, opts for a much older Spider-Man than is usually portrayed. The writing team at Insomniac have crafted yet another one for the books. One of the reasons for Spider-Man’s popularity is the endearing nature of his character and the emotionally resonant stories that stem from it. This stellar optimization makes for an incredibly smooth experience. In my time with the game, I have never noticed dips in frame rate, even during busy fight sequences.
